Did no one come to save me just becos he missed me?
ME!!! haha..Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the most interesting character to come out from the silver screen these few years. In this final chapter of the pirates trilogy its nice to have him back..from Davy Jones's Locker...and Captain Babossa too. I went to watch the movie last night with not much expectations. Didnt want to end up disappointed like I did for Matrix 3 and Spiderman 3. Well, not many movie trilogies ended off satisfactorily except for LOTR, but thats becos they already got a book to reference from. I am glad pirates 3 didnt disappoint me, in fact it was a great ride. The visuals were top notched, making spidey 3 look kinda amateurish. Funny scenes were plenty and the story was full of twists. Everyone has their own agenda, Will wants to free his father, Lord Beckett wants to control the sea by getting rid of the pirates, Babossa striked a secret deal with Tia Delma who revived him. Lots of betrayal, you dont know who is on which side until the end. I particularly like the fact that they upped the role of Elizabeth swann to a very commanding position this time round. Unlike other action movies where the female lead often is just a damsel in distress, Keira Knightley held her own really well against Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. Orlando Bloom on the other seems like the hunk in distress in this one. Its really nice to see Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy adding their own personally touch to their character and bring them to life so convincingly. Overall, this movie is worth the money just for the final battle scene already. Whats more, it has the most unique exchange-of-vows scene ever. The ending was kinda sad but I am glad they didnt opt for the happily ever after ending which would be kinda lame...stay till after the credits for the last scene as always.
